2007-2008 Member Councils and Associations
NFPC membership is open to councils of priests in the United States. The majority of member councils are diocesan, but the National Federation of Priests' Councils also includes a number of religious institutes. If a diocese's Presbyteral Council chooses not to affiliate, the priests of that diocese have the option of forming an association and then applying for membership in the NFPC. There are several member associations within the Federation. The National Black Catholic Clergy Caucus (NBCCC) is also a member and is represented on the NFPC's National Board.

Council Membership Dues
NFPC council membership dues are based on the number of priests in a diocese. This is determined by:

  1. The total number of all diocesan priests (including: active in the diocese, outside the diocese, in foreign missions, retired, sick or absent)
  2. Plus the total number of resident religious priests serving as pastors in a diocese as listed in the current Kenedy Directory.

Effective July 1, 2008 the dues assessment is $30.00 per priest with a maximum assessment of $14,895.00.

There are currently 118 Member Councils/Associations of NFPC
