Give to the NFPC Endowment

A letter from former NFPC Presidents Fr. Nick Rice and Fr. Don Wolf:

Want some good news about the priesthood?

Well, it's this! You and I are still here—a little battle-weary perhaps, but we are still here!

We're doing the same things that have kept us in the priesthood for years. We are baptizing, forgiving, healing, marrying, burying, listening, praying, hoping and encouraging. When asked it we'd do all over again, most all of us would say, "Yes!"

Things are different now, and we all know that, too! The priesthood has never had more attention focused on it, both good and bad. We are the most talked about, written about, analyzed group around today, and there's no predicting what the end result of all that process will be.

What do we do in the meantime? I'm going to suggest one very tangible thing.

We priests are constantly aside to raise resources for every good cause! Well, we're a good cause also, and so I'm spearheading an effort to raise monies for a modest endowment for the National Federation of Priests' Councils.

For over thirty-five years, the NFPC has been an advocate, a resource-gatherer, and a reasonable voice for both priests' personal and professional lives. If we have quality national resources, workshops, media presence, and a communications network among priests in this country, more than likely it is because of the good work of NFPC and the many, many priests who have guided it through the years.

So it's time to help ourselves a little bit and invest in the good future of our priesthood.

I am asking each priest to make a $200 gift today to the NFPC Legacy Endowment in honor of your own priesthood. We each know that it's a small way to help shape the priesthood for those who will come after us.

Please say a prayer of thanksgiving now for your own priesthood, remember those who have helped you along the way, and make an investment in the future of priesthood with your gift today. Send your check, please, to NFPC Endowment Fund, 333 N. Michigan Ave., Ste 1205, Chicago, IL 60601.

We're not promising any medals, novenas, or holy cards. All we promise is to continue to work hard as good priests, proud to share this sacred vocation with you, and we will do our very best to serve and strengthen priesthood today.

Planning your giving – "Priests for Tomorrow" Legacy Gift

A message from former NFPC President, Fr. Tom McCarthy

    My Fellow Priests,

The NFPC is a powerful voice and resource for priests throughout America. It?s an organization founded by priests for priests. It stands up for priests and has worked to improve the quality of their lives for going on four decades. A bequest to the NFPC will provide a legacy to those who will continue your good work for the future.

As you reflect on all the gifts that God has blessed you with, you might be thinking about your legacy to the priests who will follow you in coming generations.

You can provide a legacy for the priests who will follow you, through a bequest to the NFPC. You or your attorney can download will and trust forms below.

    Fraternally in Christ,

    Rev. Tom McCarthy
    NFPC President, 1990-93
