"Priests are, first of all, human beings whose very humanity ought to be a bridge for communicating Jesus Christ to the world today. Their humanity reflects a complex make-up, the different dimensions of what it means to be human. Each dimension needs recognition and attention."
—National Conference of Catholic Bishops
The Basic Plan for the Ongoing Formation of Priests

"Ongoing formation involves relatively new content and especially methods; it develops as a harmonious and vital process which – rooted in the formation received in the seminary – calls for adaptations, updating and modifications, but without sharps breaks in continuity."
—John Paul II

NFPC 4 Roles of Leadership Program

The 4 Roles of Leadership is an intensive, two-day workshop for councils and pastoral leaders who want to significantly improve their strategic thinking, long term vision and positive influence on others.

The program guides understanding of the changes, choices, and principles that affect decisions and equip participants with real tools. These tools provide common sense applications in teams and work groups to effect measurable improvements.

The 4 Roles of Leadership program yields measurable organizational and personal success and helps transform good managers into true leaders. Participants learn how to implement these roles to achieve measurable long-term results - without taking their eye off their day-to-day management needs.

The program helps participants identify and develop the four critical roles of leadership:
  • Pathfinding: Provides the link between what one is passionate about delivering to what the group is passionate about receiving.

  • Aligning: Creates a technically elegant system of work that also builds relationships.

  • Empowering: Releases the talent, energy, and contribution of people, yielding high trust, productive communication between individuals and teams, and innovative results where each member feels welcome to bring his or her genius to the table.

  • Modeling: Builds trust with others, the heart of effective leadership, by setting an example ourselves.
