"Priests are, first of all, human beings whose very humanity ought to be a bridge for communicating Jesus Christ to the world today. Their humanity reflects a complex make-up, the different dimensions of what it means to be human. Each dimension needs recognition and attention."

The Basic Plan for the Ongoing Formation of Priests
|
|
"Ongoing formation involves relatively new content and especially methods; it develops as a harmonious and vital process which rooted in the formation received in the seminary calls for adaptations, updating and modifications, but without sharps breaks in continuity."

NFPC Healthy Intimacy Program

Healthy Intimacy explores the sacred gift of human sexuality through three fundamental aspects of adult psychosexual maturity; Identity, Intimacy, and Integration. Looking at both research and experience, the workshop discusses the challenges and the opportunities of spirituality in a celibate lifestyle and looks at the critical importance of a mature self-identity, including a deepening self-awareness and self-acceptance. It addresses healthy as well as unhealthy ways adults express intimacy in relationships and coping with loneliness such as "cybersex" and other sexual addictions and compulsions. The program can be a source of healing and wholeness both for oneself and those one is called to minister.
Topics include: Defining Intimacy, Images of Sexuality, Male Longing for Intimacy and Connection, A Model of Healthy Sexuality, 6 Dimensions of Psychosexual Development, Obstacles to Male Intimacy, The Path of Psychosexual Integration, Ways to Nourish Affectivity, Barriers in Communication with Women, Homophobia, Men and Grief, The Path of Sacred Sexuality: Reclaiming Sexuality in its Fullness, Embracing Mortality, The Path of Surrender and Emptiness, Restoring A Sense of Balance and Passion for Life, Honest Self appraisal, Intimacy as a Commitment to Growth, and Jesus As a Model for Male Intimacy
